In just a few minutes, I’m going on hour six Of being awake, one hour into a ten hour shift You can not walk but take power trips There’s been a power shift, because your power is that you make me powerless You take my powers away You take the rain showers away You make it worth all the hours a day that we spend while we’re working from home or we stay And sit in the chair just to rock you to sleep Or crawl on the ground hear a pop in my knee The sound of your voice, a concoction of sweets That’s making me laugh as you drop from your feet But let’s stop like the beat Of my heart when I seen The look on the doctors face, wondering what does that mean They told us that it’s auditory neuropathy And we’re gonna need to set meetings with doctors at AI DuPont And they may have some answers, but question a lot They’re testing a lot Putting these stickers all on you, connect to contraptions, I just wanna hold you But you’re sleep in your mommy’s arms And you’re being so great while using your mommy’s charm I’ll be Kevin Costner, you know your bodyguard But I can’t protect you forever, I never will sever connectors so here goes my calling card You cried in the car seat while on the way home, Which made your parents both, feel super low Then mommy sang you are my sunshine you stopped, Which gave way to tears, I know that I’m not Supposed to be crying, I’m supposed to be driving But knowing you heard her was big for the timing Now I know why you’ve been constantly smiling Constantly smiling Been an empath in the tenth class Seen weak mutants scowl as I jet past But the moment you were born I would shed that Rough skin that kept me safe when my adrenaline raced Fight or flight is not an option that I’m faced with Because I’m a protector of the ones that I stay with And it seems so basic, but I will never let your face hit pavement When I’m down in the basement, baby monitor receives atop the monitor placement So I’m looking at you while I’m working in silence Headphones cancel out the sounds so your highness Can keep on sleeping, keep on dreaming Wonder what the world is like that you’re seeing I wonder what it sounds like when we’re just reading Sitting on the floor and my cups teeming Overflowing, now we’re learning ASL Cuz if you get an ear infection then you may as well Be profoundly deaf so we check your health At every opportunity and far as I could tell You’re so perfect in your imperfections I see synapses make connections As you start to learn things and take your steps in Then leave your footprints beside this message Your mom and I will do what it takes To keep all the spinning plates right there in their place And always keep your plate full with something that tastes great We were designed to give, so I’m hoping you take Everything that I have everything that I am I wish for you to grow up and be twice the man That’s all I can ask, yeah I guess we got a plan But it took your birth to make me a complete man

Don’t think that I forgot The way to rock a spot And if the mic is hot I got some rhymes to drop Don’t think I forgot I was an open mic fiend since nineteen Played every one I found, chasing pipe dreams With a pipe full of life that I’m lighting While I’m writing my life the way that I’ve seen I’ve seen a lot of things Got a lot to sing Got a lot to bring So enjoy this generous offering Of unaltered non faltering Thoughts on loss and the cumulative cost of things I’m oft lost in the songs I sing My eyes close and I’m off from this office thing I watch the earth spin, up on Saturn's rings But then i wake up on earth, I want off this thing Cuz I’m off this thing, I’m jumping off the swing But I am staying in the sky like a hawkish thing Can’t you see my wings? That’s how you know my style Even though I haven’t been up on stage in a while I’m here to rock like geodude, graveler, golem The onyx of phonics, don’t think you could spot him in the rock tunnel where you’ll need to flash some cash To get your pass or to be invited back I guess that mine got lost in the mail So I’ll just throw my own show, they’ll hope that it fails But see my will is like the sails of an ocean liner I can do anything cuz my hope is finer Than dopes who will choke of their own designs or I could toke all the smoke that is blown toward mine Minor league rhymers who hope to find a new outlet to out all the hopeless minds Hocus pocus time, because music is magic How else can you change a persons mood that quick You can’t match wits with a lit matchstick But the flames are quick to get drastic and that’s it (2x) Birthstone emerald Five star general Temporal anomaly, musically ephemeral Architecturally sound, bound to the pedestal Down for conjectural but nothing hypothetical Birthstone emerald Five star general Temporal anomaly, musically ephemeral Poetic skeptical developed to a spectacle Keep your eyes peeled if you feel antithetical

One day you came into our life It was July twenty fifth, what a trip, they gave you to me and I tightened my grip It took something just like three nights You really gave your mama hell But all’s well that ends well, I immediately fell Something so small, so full of life Talk about disarming this babe in my arms I will let no one harm or alarm So take my hand and hold it tight When you wrapped your fingers around my index finger i knew this glow would linger from our little light bringer (2x) And the worry begins, the flurry, it’s blurry the hurry begins You’re rolling, you’re crawling, you’re holding a ball and you’re climbing you’re standing you’re sticking the landing You’re sticking the landing I might understand it, I see what they’re telling If you see a time machine or someone selling Just gimme a call because I’m going to the night you were born to see it all Again So I can hold you and fall again The way that you fall when you’re offered it all and you answer the call The way that you fall when you’re offered it all and you answer the call You need to slow down Slow down Please slow down One day you came into our life Down six months, now this month his lunch is something that I want It took something just like three nights Now by 9, I’m fine to climb into this bed of mine Something so small, so full of life Had a little bit of jaundice But sunlight was the way we got that jawn fixed So take my hand and hold it tight And never let it go, I guess I’ll let you grow Cuz that’s the way it goes Yeah I know it’s the goal But right know I can carry you around and take a stroll Take it slow, take it slow Just like Paul Wall and Ye wrote Your dad played that at a show Met your mom, and here we go Time it goes, outta control Pain is the toll for change and growth So take it, break it, make it whole Take it, break it, make it whole A cycle, listen to Michael, to make it go The man in the mirror will make your foe But take your foe and break your foe To make your soul grow into the man I wanna know Into the man I wanna know I’ve been called a lot of names in my life But there’s only one name that could take every slice Of cake from every cake along a bakers row twice Add a bakers dozen of some muffins like it’s nothing Time is something Time is nothing Time is fronting There’s no way that clock has equaled the ticks with the tocks thinks that it’s slick but it’s not

How do you move through life with such assurance I’m sure it’s a part of being sure in your soreness So sure that you’re pure in your forays Into different avenues, different doorways When I look into your face I see me but it’s missing something, that’s amore I know you have a forte and think you’ve figured it out But just wait, you’re gonna learn so many different routes Pitter patter while you’re sleeping on a different couch You fell asleep, and you missed when they were sneaking out So you’ll have to call Kev for a ride, And he will always answer, he’s really a ride or die Don’t try to hide or treat like me some old guy I’m you from the future and you’re so fried That you’ll forget it all tomorrow but I so tried I’m so tied to trying not to mess with the timeline Cuz you need to mess up like nine times From now, our story’s really like we had nine lives wow Lots of debacles, lots of debauchery Stop with wobbles I’m watching me copping a bottle Stopping at wa I’m not a role model But when you learn to swaddle you’re gonna feel a lot of regret of how you’ve fallen for squabbles Strap on your goggles cuz here’s where it gets deep You’re gonna make yourself a band that plays on Main Street Which is a feat, but you’ll constantly retreat And live inside your head until you meet the person that you’re destined to meet A blessing of sweet pleasantries But now you’re headed for an unpleasant remedy You’ll need to learn quite a few things the hard way One road is lit, but at the fork you’ll take the dark way So take this flashlight, it’s not safe to go alone But where we’re going, we won’t need any roads It’s time to go back to the future Back to the future Back back to the future Welcome home this is your life You see that pretty lady, one day she’ll be your wife And the sweetest baby, that’s in her hands and on her side He’s named after your pop, you can try not to cry But I promise it’ll happen And you’ll still continue rapping With a home studio that was named for a rabbit And just wait, yeah I am the shock bringer Remember that pretty lady? Yeah she’s also a singer And she writes her own songs, bro remember the dream Wait til Big L can sing, he can round out the team You’ve got all the instruments right there in your reach And not to mention your speech has been sharpened by beats You’ll cop a drum set from Shea who you just met today There’s a lot of good people in the orbit you’ve displayed But there’s also lots of snakes, lots of people who will take See the world is full of balance so when stacking up the weights There is action, there is pace There is facts and there are fakes There is fiction in the diction of the visionary’s ways So the mission is the mission but it also isn’t, hey I can see I’ve lost you, your red eyes have glazed You’re lost in a haze, you’re often afraid Toss in a loss of a loved one and you’re lost in the fray But the family that you chose will keep you showered in praise And not just showered in booze though I know it seems great And I know you’ll have a lot of fun but now it’s getting late I’ve gotta get you back to the past where you started your day When Joe slept in the gazebo right before you would play Got a case of forty ounces from the store in a way Cuz none of you were 21, but had a plan for plenty fun And now I can recall why this day has been a fuzzy one Whenever recalled cuz I saw what I would soon become And that I would have a beautiful son
5.
There’s a crisis on infinite earths You see, there are infinite Mes and infinite hers So how can I be sure that this plan will work Well I just gotta lay low cuz I’m here to observe And my theory is such In every universe we’ve touched So you could say it’s like a crux Of how I become who I want It’s like the crutch I need to walk the path The chalk in class The talking in the back that makes the students laugh Detention and the aftermath, Because it takes a lot of mistakes To really find the right road or which exit to take But see I’m so jubilant Watching my duplicate Have his meet cute, and dispose the disillusionment And I know when he meets you, his big heart he starts using it See there’s a council of Russell’s That I look to when in trouble But each one of them is two, and I don’t mean I’m seeing double I mean each is joined by you, and you’ve all got some great rebuttals Every couple could befuddle with the words they use to juggle As they give me some advice to deal with early morning struggles But they keep it really real, not afraid of popping bubbles So across the multiverse, all I wanna see is you There are infinite ways in which you can be my muse And every version of you would like to meet the one, From earth 523, the one for me, and I want To show you everything, take you off this world with me So just buckle in your seat, as this trip could make it seem Like everything you’ve known before today was really just a dream You are the call to action In every form and fashion Impassioned to become the bastion Of love and light while we face assassins See we share the title Coheadliners, your inputs vital I’m not pitching a fridgin, You are a part of the mission, in the fabric you are the stitching I’m hitching to your star and wishing That we could do this forever And ever and ever and ever
6.
You should let me roll it I don’t mean to control it But it’s like ponyboy taught me how to roll cuz they stay golden And you know I stay holdin, Like I make comic books with Banky I might like my Batman campy But you can’t keep camping, passing Is probably in order, To ensure that we can smoke before the Bands supposed to play Dammit, bro, today Not a great display But I’m here to help, so it’s okay (it’s okay) Just be quick to hit the Jay Like Solange, as we elevate Had two L’s and I’m smellin great Set starts at 8, but it’s 8:08 Heartbreak, That’ll just cut into our break Par for the course of this dark day A sparked jay at deer park almost ruined our day
7.
Sitting outside shooting the breeze These days, there’s not a lot of days like these I came through to say my piece That’s peace to the peeps who knew me from Main Street I remember walking far while the rain beat Down on my head as I listen to the train speed Past along the tracks, all of that to the same beat The heart of Newark, I’m unsure that it’s the same street They tell me that Elkton road is south Main Street And that’s where they moved the DP Dough Closed the venues where you’ve seen me flow Except for Homegrown, but that’s a place we don’t go If you know you know, and if you don’t you don’t It’s not my story to tell so I won’t But I will say that looking back on how I spent my days Really has me spun sitting in a daze These days There’s not a lot of days like these The boss talked about glory days And this is kinda like that, but in a less sad way We’ve all grown, no peaks in sight And I’ve brought some climbing gear cuz we won’t see it tonight I’m like Cell after absorbing just one Android But instead of 17 is just some cannabinoids Can I avoid pitfalls in the void? I keep my eyes on the prize while I climb with my boy And my muse, that’s true as we walked through the snow From a bungalowlife I’d never bungle my flow twice, no The goal is grow, to see the seeds I sow Become a new contributor to where we could go Where will the shows be in ten years who knows But as long as we’re together then we’ll see where it goes From 2 wash to new wash, the bungalow to rabbit hole These days that’s the way that it goes 2x I’d smoke a bowl before a show, that’s a pack n play Now I just need a place to stash my baby’s pack n play And the guy on the door was a bouncer Now breast milks the only time I’ll count an ounce or Lullabies are my new rap cypher And teething’s the last time I pulled an all nighter And I swear that I wouldn’t trade this life for Anything Now where can I change Big L’s diaper?

Yes yes y’all Me and Marv the Apollo be the best y’all Is that a bird? Nah we fly above the rest y’all Super emcees S on the chest y’all (Russell ¿Que?) Me and Marv been the best in the flesh Since invested in sentences, left with a reverence For blessing and microphone testing If you got stages than expect we’ll be stepping in Footprints left in them From the superhero landing My understanding is that of a twelfth level intellect You should reflect before it’s time to collect I’m primed to respect unless you earn the opposite, cause and effect So it goes like Kurt Vonnegut, not often upset Been on flows for ten plus and got a doctorate Why would you go and bench us? You should ponder it Stop and drop and honor it I’m in the bio-dome with Romulus The lepidopterist And all the purple sticky punch you could want So come on up to the front, and feel the bass drum thump That’s tum With the rump pum pum pum And if you want some Here comes the bite like lime rum Ive come along way from wine drunk Now watch as I climb up From the rocks where you’ll sometimes find us And if you’re wondering why us Then I suggest that you should not mind us Who should you call if you’re looking for a good time I don’t know, but call us if you’re looking for good rhymes
9.
I am not content just creating content And I’ll attempt to summarize it in a broad sense I’ve been a malcontent no matter my intent Which has taught me to resent anybody who never went Out of their way to help, Left us sitting on the shelf Said they couldn’t market our music, so we booked shows on market ourself you went out of your way to block the pay They say that you’ve built the music scene, well yay But riddle me this, cuz I’ve been playing shows since 18 And I’m turning 33, so that 15 of lived dreams We’re not going head to head, this is not split screen But you split, she screamed and aired it all over the scene As we continue on, strong, it won’t be long We’ll be playing shows again, Big L in the lawn He just learned to clap, so he’s on track To be on tracks with his dad, hear him laugh in the back I find it funny, that there is such an emphasis on money I’d take the short to pay a band from outta town, take it from me I’m not a business man, or a business man And I don’t have a business plan I’m just trying to make music for art's sake I hit vampires with heart stakes so I am not your entree I’m more like Andre 3000 ways to spend my day in the shade With friends, making sure that they all get paid So if you were there first like Ray J I’d never stand in the way of another’s pay day Cuz I get it, we're not all as lucky as this Studio in the basement, and I know how to mix I’m not a master at mastering, but technology is faster than a dastardly bastard with a plan for disaster So I plug in the plug ins, after tucking my son in While snakes stay on rocks to get their sun in Spray a little sun in, to lighten the mood I’m a Lion you’re a zebra, think I’m fighting the food? You can try and changes your stripes but I’ve seen what you do And that’s cool, do you I’ll just do me too, To the people who have showed their faces at every show From venue to venue, wherever we go You’re the reason that we do it, and the reason for the season As soon as I see the day, I start seizing, like seize him He is me, so before you try to see him You better make damn sure that you gone beat him And think twice about the way you choose to treat him If I was to venture a guess, one day you’ll need him So I’m trying to decide which of my sides I should hide Jekyll or Hyde Should it be no more mr nice guy? No more mr think twice guy? The Heat Meiser, or am I mr ice guy? Turn to Victor Fries with ease, here’s my advice, guy Just hang back, but be ready for action If you hear the magic word like Billy Batson Shazam this jam is packed in I’ve been booking shows since I rocked with First Faction Now I’m tryina be Inn like Jackson Shout to Mega Mothman Mike, making it happen Trying to show support in any form or fashion Cuz playing live shows is my passion So I’m trying to decide which of my sides I should hide Jekyll or Hyde You should hide Mr Hyde Get back inside Let me drive the ride Dr Jekyll on a level undefined The Blue Devil vessel who will revel in sunshine I’ve been recognized more than one time As open mic host, or multiple band front guy Multi instrumentalist meets a mentalist I’m like Banksy with a stencil when my pencil hits It could crush ten cinder blocks Ignite a show like a tinderbox And that’s a show by GingerFox Productions is something I’ve trusted for something like 10 whole years to keep it jumping And I am grateful for any placement That’s why the posters are all over the basement From every hot jam, cool jam, fall jam Yeah I’ve been to all jams And I swear they all jammed The only jam I missed was when I quit my job I got sticked with one last shift, like a kebab But that was back when the event was two days, I made it right before the end and next day we still played And that was in the past something like a decade Right after Lucky and Shea became my senseis Back in my nonsense days, no sense days And I was meant to find this group like sense8 (2x) Every hot jam, cool jam, fall jam, Yeah I been to all jams, And I swear they all jammed
