Will Rap For Comics
04:05
|
|||
I don’t need a lot of dollars in my pocket
Just enough to hit the shop and cop a couple comics
If we’re talking green, you know I’m talking kryptonite
Thought bubbles to the right said I need a bite
A stack of six comics sates my appetite
Reading while careening through a scene of black and white
The sun gives me great strength like a daxumite
Praise rao if my style makes you an acolyte
The doomsday clock is ticking to the action right
Make sure I’m acting right
I take the lessons from the pages like the wisdom of the sages
Cuz the writers write their versions of some ancient fables based in
Old religions and myths
Then they’re flipped into this
As if your favorite superhero lived on Mount Olympus
Or from the towering abyss
Like Swamp Thing chomping on the flowers that switch
And allow him to come to terms with the fact that he’s dead
Wrapping his head, around the pain, I’m rapping instead
I’m not much of a Bruce Wayne, I’m more of a Buddy Baker
More of a dummy that’s hard up for money and funny with quirky behavior
Not much of a savior
But conserving the earth would earn a rebirth
The Green and The Red in Reverse
The rot is spot where the lot of us blurt
The truth and it hurts and poof and it’s worse
Boom tube to a new earth
Got a blue ring, but two things first
gotta say the oath,
Gotta spray the hope
All around the globe cuz it burns bright
Turn the page for a climactic fight
Superman and doomsday clashing like titans
The left and right of my brain fighting when I’m writing
Verbally exciting
Like it’s onomatopoetic
Invisible eclectic with an existential tendency
Poof , a cloud of smoke, I’m out, I hope
We cross paths again, never doubt I’m dope
And I assure you that I’m having a blast
Prepare to laugh like it’s joker gas
I’m in the house, house of El or the house of M
Meets the house of pain, but it’ll never sound the same
I jump around, leap a building in a single bound,
Fires in the eye of the beholder, so behold it now, from out the dark
I’ve fanned the spark
And got it flamed on like like Johnny
I’m part sweep the leg meets mr miyagi
Like a crane kick but with language
Left in anguish
If you attempt to extinguish
The fire with which I’m cooking
Inspired by comic books and the like to get it looked at as tight
So all these songs that I write
Are from a secret issue of ninth wonders and Isaac was right
No not that one that I know, the one from the show
He could paint the future and this is how it goes
On an alternate globe, but I promise that they exist
Fingers crosses that we’ll cross from this world of mischief

The Rise (The Paper)
03:51
|
|||
I’ve learned to harness my flaws
Like Wolverines claws
Weapon x that’s destined for blessed steps
The next test requires I be my best
Or better than the last time
Better than the last group of rhymes
And better than the person who imbibes
Too many drinks until I’m unable to drive
Unable to thrive and unable to shine
Darkening the shades in the rooms within my mind
I move freely between the past and the present
King of this realm, past me was just a peasant
Rather unpleasant to revisit this tenement
Broken down palace to the memories and sentiments
And the flaws that haunt these hallowed halls
The gallows call for the shallow fall
But the rise will be greater
For the true and not the faker
Emperors new groove subdued by the takers
And the ones getting moved by the paper
Can keep on moving from the rooms that I favor
So always be yourself, unapologetically
Unless a rhetoric of hatred is your remedy
We spreading nothing but love in 2021
And I’m never gonna say that 2020 won
We got engaged, got a baby on the way
Of course we’re missing loved ones on the day to day
But when it’s nice out, it’s light out, we back in the yard
Fire pit going hard watching logs get charred
Marshmallow on the stick, and there’s more in store
Not just s’mores got a smorgasbord
And there’s enough for everyone,
Yup we having plenty fun
Embracing individuals for who they are not where they from
But tell me bout your life and I’ll be all ears
Like an elegant elephant, let’s defeat all tears
All year, we spreading love, and I’ll say it again
So keep the hate over there, keep away from my friends
Cappadonna said that love is love, love
How can you not just love love
Some good TLC like no scrubs,
Or chasing waterfalls for the rub a dub dub
Double up a dub, cuz I’m going for win win
Michael Scott conflict resolution
So that’s win win win and we all get a spin
On the wheel of morality, how do we let him in
When we’re socially distant, woefully distant
But in this instance I’m hoping that hope can be gifted
And presented in the present as a present, it’s a vision
Of how living could be different if we all continue wishing and just listen to each other cuz there’s harmony in living
And it’s harder if we didn’t
See the art in all the hardships
And it’s partially deriven
No derived from the hearts
that have tried to be part
Of the song from the start

Will you be the Jean Gray to my Scott?
I’ll be Ben Grimm, if you be my rock
Just be thing that brings me such joy
Sue to my Reed, or I’ll be beast boy
Which makes you my raven, my heart for taking
I’m artfully tracing
Our path on this pavement
From the start to the days where we laid in the shade
Videos are made while the music is played
Sweet as taboo like Sade
Move to the tune so the groove is saved
You make me feel super in the smoothest way
This is the way
I’ll be the Clark to your Lois
Check my heart I’ll tell you what the glow is
That’s blue for the hope, I’m using the oath
To move through a room full of nopes
Like to Arthur to Mera, I can’t make it clearer
Sue Dibney and Ralph amounts to the mirror
Your heroic love for me makes me feel strong
That’s the reason for the song
Could you be like Rita to Flex
I’m Constantine keeping my demons in check
Constantly, I been needing to rest
But the energy your giving me is leaving me vexed
Like Clark’s first time in the sun
That’s the way it felt to learn we’re having a son
So I guess he’s gotta shine like one
And I can tell the story’s just begun
Wait let me be clear, not a damsel in distress
More like Wonder Woman in a sundress
Now ya know we’re having fun, yes
Like it’s year one, yes
No stress, cuz we’re ready for what comes next
And the roads set
For strolling with a stroller
Holding my hand
When we get a little older
I’ll still be your man
And when the weather gets colder
You know we got a plan
Ready to raise a hero, like only we can
So I can be the Johnathan to your Martha Kent
In Smallville, talking bout the places we went
The things that we’ve done and the music that we’ve played
it’s always year one when we do it our way
Overflowing is the way that my glass stays
Since the first class days, to the days of future past days
During the light and when times get darker
Mary Jane Watson to the man, Peter Parker

YES
03:32
|
|||
Live from Newark, it’s Saturday night
Late at night but it’s actually bright
From the light of the stars in your eyes
Starting to find
A kindred spirit in your heart, intertwined
With mine, so I might as well
Design a time to tell
Time to try and rhyme it well
Wine, I’m feeling fine as hell
And I think you’re feeling that you
I’ve been staring at you
Star gazing, constellation with your tattoo
Cuz the dots all connect
Got all respect, so I never would neglect
Took a deep breath, then I took the first step
No testing I leapt, and I never will forget
When we finally made that date
A little Mexican food, then we stayed up late
But it all started with one question
Not a pop quiz, but please no guessin
Could we meet next week?
Maybe catch a flick, or take a walk to Main Street
I’d be honored just to buy you lunch
I got a hunch that we’d both like brunch
Cuz you know the conversation is bottomless
Just like the oj and the champagne bottles is
I mean the bottles are,
Moving full throttle headed far
And I’m down to roll in your sidecar
Let’s head to the bar, get a couple drinks
No one has to drive, we can walk with arms linked
Hand in mine
Can’t define
The feeling that I’m having at this crucial time
Heart beating outta my chest
And it all started when you went and said yes
The only word that’d work is blessed
And we ain’t seen nothing yet
We went from drinking during the day dates
To planning future play dates
To moving furniture out of a room so we can placate
And make room for the new moon of my world
And it goes back to when I asked would you be my girl
With one word you completely changed it all
With one little glance on a night in the fall
While new days may come with new challenges
We got this, and you know what the balance is
You’re the axis that acts as the poles
The gravitational pull, that’s keeping me whole
You’re the world, and our son is the moon
And the journey that we’re on is getting real good soon

Well I’m hoping I don’t act up
When they open the world back up
From the start of the show until we pack up
I need my personal space, so please back up
Stay out of my personal bubble
I ain’t looking for trouble
I’m just trying to be Russell
I’m just trying to play a little music for my friends in the struggle
Living through this quarantine and waiting for something to bubble
But there’s no wartortle in sight
More toward an insight
Than a lyrical fight
A matador of sorts when contorting a mic
Not conforming to the Norm when performing what I write
But When I’m showered in sounds
I feel the power from the hours that it took to write it down
Washed away is the nerves
When we finish the first verse of the first song for the return
I’m here to spill the beans like Kevin Malone
Some times it tough for me to try to get in the zone
They’re closing down the stages where I came into my own
And the places I was safest save just basically my home
But when I close my eyes and the mic is hot
I just imagine that I’m right back in my spot
Soles stuck to the floor, and my soul wants more
Of the life force born from the nights first pour
I might work towards a life like yours
But the one that I’m living is tight for sure
I made my way, so it’s time to find your own
Just be yourself and you’ll never be alone
I need my personal space like a pocket dimension
I’ve opted to mention
My obstinate henchmen
An obstacle but sentient
With a penchant for dissent and contempt
For the normal ways of thinking, and was sent
To block my inner thoughts from escaping through the vents
Yippee kayyyy yayyy, I’m holding hostage your event
So put your hands up to the sky, and maybe just back up
And for old times sake let’s act up

Do you remember what a party is?
Few friends, few drinks, that’s a starter kit
Been a long night, getting through the dark of it
Because the sunshine comes right after the darker bit
Put some music on, that’ll be the heart of it
Feeling pretty super man, rocking fresh Clark’s and fit
I ain’t coming here to start some shit
Trying to make music for the art of it
Miss shows with the crowds rockin left to right
Well be back, that’s a fact, and that blessed night
We gone do it like we’ve never ever done it before
In loving memory of 1984
Thank you for being a friend, and supporting the dreams after they closed the east end
The party’s going like we just don’t see ends
Until we meet again we will always be friends
Do you remember Do, do you remember /
Aye wait hey How can we ever forget /
Back in them days like a blender i mixed/
Uhh who’d ever thought that life would ever be tender/
Half the population dropped like it was caught in the blip/(uhh)
Thanks the way that i snap/
I dont ever react i sit back and adapt on the track/
Thought i was beeswax the way the mind mines/
Higher than a star now they just looking so afar/(aye)
Im just the king wizard im jafar/(aye)
Wat they want war for you tryna even the score/
In life theres so much more in store/
No wonder why everybody lying to him/
Yea but i kno the truth thats why im the king in this booth/
I stand tall godzilla king kong/
And the party going on and on/
Flow is everlasting like a gobstopper
Known to hob nob, with some odd rockers
For taking odd jobs, playing parking lots
Opportunity knocks, I’m poppin locks it’s time to conquer
You can catch me in the yard at 2 wash
On the stage, rocking sandals and my socks
Peak comfort, no need to impress
When you with the ones you love, get that much needed rest

Dying to Exist
04:57
|
|||
Everyone’s felt lost
When it’s time to get found, that’s when you really see the cost
Was it worth it?
Did it work to be imperfect?
Did the serpents forked tongue trick you into something worthless
Something to get hurt seeming like it had no purpose
But the purpose was the rebound
See we found
A new strength in the loss, and now it’s cd bound
If only me then could see me now
Imagine the shock if I took it from the top
But I’d change the time stream with the knowledge there to drop
Through all these teachable moments
I needed opponents to be a mirror to me and my weakest components
My greatest enemy and my own worst critic
Has always been me, Isaac I don’t think they get it
While these gems keep falling, not doing for my health
You can never find your calling, until you find yourself.
it goes a little something this
A story with a twist
But the twist is that none of us exist
Just names on a list
A list that consists
Of those who persist
To fight hand and fist
Against the dying of the light, trying to exist
Dying in the fight, is just dying to exist
Dying in the fight, is just dying to exist
They say in that last moment, your whole life flashes by
So what if right now is just that moment in your eye
On the last day of the ride
Will that change how you survive
Or how the days pass you by
Will you plan to move mountains with your time
Make sure your legacy is solid and divine
Compress a memoir and just drop it in a rhyme
Put it on a cd, a flat disc like time
We’re all waves moving at different paces
Existing at different times, going through phase shifts
Working day shifts until weekend play hits
Get the band back together just so we can play this
In the basement making claims that are baseless
You know just casually talking shit to the bassist
Having fun strictly on the basis
That it’s not that serious and truly amazing

I know that this’ll sound far fetched
Relatively rare like a farfetch’d catch
In the dark took steps to be met on the street
By my friends Myke and Melissa, little after 3
I was talking on the phone
While walking alone
When I saw this little creature, cue the chattering bones
It was bigger than a squirrel, a little smaller than a fox
I looked again and imagine my shock
It jumped straight up, maybe 3 or 4 feet
Hit the ground rolling, that was the last we would meet
But I know what I saw, plain as day that night
When I’m wearing contacts I have great eye sight
I’m sure I know what you’re wondering
If it was at the shore, influence I was under then
And you may be right, I ain’t debating that
But I looked it up online, so it’s basically a fact
A few years back, they published this article
And unless Nat Geo is running with something farcical
Then it’s totally reasonable to see one
Cuz they’ve been moving north for the last 12 seasons
This little 9 banded bandit
I guess it’s got the sand, so I kinda understand it
I can see the allure of a dune
Close to the ocean, but a storms coming through
What more can I do? I’ve been looking for years
No one believes me, but I know the shape of its ears
It’s moved on from the place of its peers
Like a little spaceman with his face to the piers
